About the Brand

Founded in 2022, BONTEMPS is a sustainability focused women's sportswear brand based in Los Angeles, California. We design and make clothing that inspires wearers to demonstrate their individuality unapologetically.

BONTEMPS was born from a desire to create high quality, novel clothes that enliven the wardrobe. Our obsession with the technicalities of design combined with an unrelenting commitment to sustainable, small-scale manufacturing has led to what we hope you consider a gratifying respite from neutral, lifeless, mass-market fashion. We formally welcome you to the world of BONTEMPS and hope you delight in it as much as we do. 

As a brand we create pieces inspired by a variety of sources; Deco and Bauhaus design, Scandinavian/ Dutch modernist design, vintage American fashion, American history and anthropology, and modern art among them. We favor harsh contrasts with eloquently arranged colors, and welcome intriguing and provocative shapes that both distinguish and flatter the form.
